iLive IC618B Clock Radio with Enhanced Sound and Docking Station for iPod (Black) Review

Pros: Stylish look. many dock inserts for all ipod types. plays my music at descent quality. remote is useful and there is a nice holding slot for it. charging feature works well.
cons: WARNING: this clock will get increasingly louder at a very rapid pace until it blows your ears off.i have had this clock for less than a year and the light that used to tell the time has slowly dimmed so that it is almost impossible to read what the clock says (and i am a teenager with perfect eyesight). The remote is nice but it is very confusing because there are way too many buttons on it. The instructions are extremely uninformative so if you buy this clock, i hope you are good at figuring out technology. i have noticed in the past couple of months that when the ipod touch is in the dock, it makes dim scratchy sounds, which is extremely annoying. Recently the alarm function stopped working (along with many other important features). The radio has a lot of static. I am currently shopping for an ihome!

Gpx Home Music System with DVD Review

Instructions are very simplistic and vague. Product doesn't work as remote speakers for TV, which was it's intent. If I wanted just a CD player and radio I would have purchased a much different item. Spend your money on a system that truly works as a surround/remote speaker FOR a TV... $$ poorly spent.

GPX WeatherX FR3807DP Instant Weatherband AM/FM Radio Review

I purchased this unit to include in my emergency kit. It packs a lot of good function into one unit.

There are a couple things that would have made it better.

One is a digital tuner for the radio. It's an old-style thumbwheel, so you'll need to twiddle a bit to tune into the signal.

The weather radio is missing one very important feature: emergency alert.

I'm not disappointed because it provides so much, but I do wish the radio was better.

iLive IS808B HD Radio with iPod Dock (Black) Review

The shipping was very fast, recieved item day after I purchased it. It is a little big, but the clarity of the radio is great. The sound is awesome and it is very easy to use. I like the fact that the light is not that bright on it. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a ipod docking station.

iLive Home Music Station with Built-in Subwoofer and iPod Dock (Black) Review

I purchased this as a gift and upon setting it up, we found that the clock display on the front didn't work at all. Other reviewers mentioned this function going out a couple weeks after opening the box, but I doubt ours worked at any point. So, we've ordered a replacement and I'm hoping it works on second attempt. Otherwise, we'll be getting a refund for sure.

iLive Travel Speaker with iPod Dock (Black) Review

This company sells junk. I bought this ilive travel speaker and it did not work out of the box. Unfortunately i didn't check to see if it worked until I went on a trip which was past the time I could return it to A1 books. So i spent the $10 to send it back to iLive under there manufacturers warranty. Anyway they sent me a different speaker system than the one I ordered and it has one speaker that just produces static. Do yourself a favor and buy from a reputable company.

iLive 5.1-Channel Home Theater Speaker Bar with iPod Dock (Black) Review

I bought this a couple weeks ago and I really wished there were some reviews to help my decision. So, here's one to help yours. Ok, first of all on paper this thing is really cool. All in one surround sound system that plays DVDs, upscales to 1080i, and has a dock for your ipod so you can watch the ipod content on your TV and listen to the music on the speakers.

In theory this means I could get rid of my DVD player, my old speakers and receiver, and have way less clutter and cables to connect everything. Just one speaker bar, and a TV and you're done.

It does all that and that is all really cool. For me, in a small house, having a nice all in one device that I can connect my TV to is great. It also has several other audio inputs that work great for my record player. The sound is really good (though of course, not as good as a true surround sound system with speakers all of your room). For my small living room its more then loud enough and a VAST improvement over my TV's speakers. The iPod dock does what it says and extends out and charges and plays your iPods contents. Pretty sweet right?

Ok, there are several downsides to this product that haven't quite pushed me to returning it, but have gotten me close. Number one the remote is insane! There are so many oddly labeled buttons and so many features it is terribly confusing. This is for sure the kind of product your friend staying at your house will not be able to figure out how to use. Especially the iPod features. A lot of the bottoms simply do not do what they say they will do either. For instance, the "VIDEO" botton is supposed to show what resolution you are using (480i/ 1080i ect) but it doesn't. Or, actually if you press the bottom there is a flash during resolution change and for a half a mili second the label pops up in a blaze of static then disappears. Setting all that up was extremely confusing, but I finally figured out setting my TV to full screen and setting the player to 16:9 with the VIDEO button repeatedly pressed until it looked right was the way to go. Seriously, the remote is insane. SO hard to use.

Ipod playback is real good but unfortunately you have to connect the unit via component or S-video cables to work for the iPOD. I have the DVD Player connected via HDMI so its kind of a shame to complicate such a simple all in one unit by having to use 2 video out cables on it. Video playback was terrible until I figured out that the DVD player mounted on the far right of the machine was being vibrated by the bass and therefor glitching out. Once i mounted the bar to the wall everything was cool. It does come with both a stand and wall mounts. You will find HDMI cables very difficult to use on the unit if you use it on the stand because the cable comes straight out of the bottom and mine wouldn't bend enough to not be lifting the unit off the table on one end.

The mounts utilize a set of spacers that are made of some kind of really dense foam. They smell terrible! I'm serious, if you get one, you will see. They must be made of old burned down house because thats what they smell like. I washed the spacers and wall mounts carefully with soap and water, and anytime I go near my TV the smell is still overwhelming.

So overall, this is a really cool all in one product. No speaker wires to run, minimal cables to run to your TV and pretty much everything you need for an entertainment center minus a TV. The design is cool, the manufacturing is questionable (one of my speaker ports fell out (but was easily snapped into place and the ipod dock feels like it will break off), and the controls and printed manual are awful and not very helpful. If you can deal with the awkwardness of the unit's controls it really is a great and inexpensive all in one unit.

Door Lock/alram Interface Review

This product has been discontinued. If you're looking for the replacement Chrysler module, then you're looking for the DLPKCG2. The new version comes pre-flashed which is perfect for DIYers. If you're a dealer then save the dollars and go with this product. This module can be flashed with the same firmware as the new one yet is half the price. Good luck!

iLive 2.1-Channel DVD/CD Home Music System with iPod Dock (Black) Review

This sound system is a good system for the price. It provides good quality sound and a clear picture with DVD playback. The MP3 playback menus are very basic, and I wish you could play a whole MP3 CD on random instead of just individual folders, but I haven't figured out a way to do that yet.

Cons: the DVD tray seems very fragile. I don't know if it is as it hasn't broken or anything, but I wouldn't want my kids playing with it very much. The only other problem I have noted is that, while the remote works very well, the buttons on the base unit sometimes are quirky (at times when I push the skip ahead button it skips twice, and the volume knob has to be turned slowly or it doesn't respond)

Overall the system works well for the price, if you can get past its quirks.

Zlive Portable Speaker for Zune (Black) Review

This product, while better than nothing, was a little disappointing. It's a case of "buyer beware". What did I expect for the money and the size? If you go in expecting nothing more than a barely serviceable loudspeaker--no fidelity--you won't be disappointed. One more thing: The 80 gig Zune won't fit into the dock. You have to use the cable that comes with it to plug in.

Keep looking for a cable that will allow you to dock with a Bose IPod station. I hope they exist!

iLive IS208B Stereo Speaker System with iPod Dock (Black) Review

When I first ordered this product as a first time amazon shopper, I was a bit skeptic with the results. When it came in the mail, I was pleased to find the product new and secured in the box along with a book I purchased as well. The product proved to be an easy set-up and it earned my appreciation with the ability to host multiple generations for the Ipod. I have owned about 4 different ipods, but My main use was the video. Unlike other Ipod stereos that would only support the latest models and generations, this one provided a chance to use them all. When my main ipod died, I didn't need to worry because I knew the stereo would support the next one I used whether it was a 4th Generation Nano or a new generation Iphone. In conclusion, I recommend this Ipod Stereo for anyone who knows they would switch between the different Generations of Ipod. I would also like to add that my family and I recently used the stereo with a sound system that projected the music clearly, loudly, and efficiently for our 4th of July Party. This stereo is a perfect fit for any music lover.

iLive 2.1-Channel Speaker Bar with iPod Dock (Black) Review

I LOVE my new iLIVE bar speaker! I have an IPOD as well as an iphone 3G and I got this from BJs just to see if it will work with my iphone 3G. To my surprise it not only played the songs on my iphone but also charged my iphone 3G (though it gives the message at the begining that do you want to turn on Airplane mode..Just say no to it and proceed). Even the remote is able to control the music for the iphone..So all in all I am just loving this piece of gadget..Its been more than 2 months and I am enjoying every piece of this..I have all my inputs connected to my SONY 40 inch LCD TV and the sound output from my SONY TV to the iLIVE and its just amazing..I also connect my laptop using the aux port and that also sounds amazing..All in all a very good deal for $76..If you still have doubts you can buy it from BJs which sells this for about $80 so in case anything happens you can always go an return it..Don't pass this up.

Zlive Speaker System and Docking Station for Zune (Black) Review

i have bought the Zlive Speaker system to enhance my zune and its been a great buy. I tried lookin for speaker systems for my 120GB Zune in other stores and they never had anything. All stores only have things made for Ipods. I never like ipods. once i saw my Zune i knew that it was my best choice. it was the same feeling when i saw this speaker system. its a very simple device. the clock is easy to set up and docking the Zune player is so easy. The remote that comes with it works perfectly and controls all of the Zune's features. The equalizer makes every song i play even better. The best part of the speakers is that it charges the Zune player. that is what made me choose it. if u want to enhance your Zune experience buy the Zlive spearker system.

iLive Executive Speaker with Dock for iPod and MP3 Players Review

This speaker/dock has nice sound and is easy to learn how to use. It's a nice size and weight and looks nice. But ... about 2.5 months after I bought it, it started to wear out: it seems to overheat. I can't switch modes after it's been playing for a few minutes (i just hear static instead of the radio, for instance), the alarm clock won't set, etc. Too bad, because otherwise I like it. Be warned to act quickly: it's got a 90-day warranty.

Dv Gx BD707B Portable DVD Boom Box Review

This was an "impulse buy" that I kept putting off. I'd look at it and think, That looks kind of cool. And then I'd wait. But the day was fast approaching when the little TV--the little ANALOG TV--that I took with me to the park was no longer going to work, and that was something I had enjoyed doing on lazy summer nights. So I finally pulled the trigger.

First impression: I wish the handle seemed stronger, and the knobs are sort of loose. It could feel better-put-together, sturdier. And I have yet to figure out how to adjust the brightness properly. BUT...it does everything I hoped it would. The sound and the picture (which is small, but that's kind of the point of a portable) are excellent. It's easy to use (but I do wish that there was an option to leave the remote behind for some functions that could have been included on the box itself)and so far hasn't eaten through batteries too fast (something my TV actually did do).

And here's how the thing has already paid for itself. My girlfriend and I were going to see "Up," but it as sold out. We set this box on the car dash in the theater parking lot and watched Ken Russell's "The Devils," with fog and rain and the shadows of passers-by as the backdrop. It was a perfectly creepy, unsettling experience. If nothing else, this gadget makes for a fine "drive-in" movie. I hesitate to recommend it too highly, because I can easily imagine it not being up to the rough treatment it will inevitably experience someday (boomboxes have to be able to take some punishment or they're not portable), but for what we've used it for so far...I've been very pleased.

Wow, what's with the screen? I just got mine, and tried out various media in it. The screen is pixelated like an old TI we had when I was a kid, and I am not exaggerating. You would not believe that this is for sale in 2008. I am in shock. This is definitely going back.

GPX D1816 DVD Deck with Remote Control (Black) Review

I decided to give this one a chance since the price was so good and it was a compact player. It didn't play some of our DVD's correctly, and then it stopped working. Too bad, it sure cleared up some shelf space being so small compared to our old player. It also seemed like the disc tray was really fragile because it was so thin. iLive Portable Boombox with iPod Dock (Black) Review

If you're looking for a system that delivers huge sound, then don't buy this.
However, it's exactly what I was looking for! My iPod shuffle 1g fits into it perfectly and it's a good listen! This item is for a picnic day or a day at the beach or for taking along in the car where radio reception isn't great. I really like it and am totally happy with it! It has the distinct advantage of charging the ipod while it's playing. Also, it has a connecting cord that will allow you to play your music for as long as you'd like without worrying about batteries. It takes 6 C batteries, but I haven't tested how long those batteries might last while that's the only power source.

I think this is a pretty good product! Oh yes, and it has a radio in it, too!!!

GPX KC218S Under Cabinet CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Radio and Digital Readout (Silver) Review

YIKES! I've heard distortion guitar effects pedals that had less background hiss than this thing. Too bad I found that out AFTER I drilled four 1/4" holes in my cabinet. THREE CHEERS FOR WOOD FILLER!

This thing is a stinker. If CD players sounded like this in the 80s people would have stuck with cassette tapes. GPX - how can you even put out something like this with a serious face? This is not some new technology... it's a CD PLAYER!

The good news is that it yanks out faster than it went in. GPX should reimburse me for my gas and time for selling such a pitiful excuse for a CD player.

GPX 2 GB Digital Audio Player (Black) Review

I listen mostly to audio books and publications. I appreciate the 2 gigs on this player. For audio books that's more than enough space. You do have to recharge it from time to time and the first time it takes about 10 hours. But a charge lasts a long time.

The documentation is awful. It's not complete. And technical support does not answer email. They do not answer the phone. So, there is NO technical support.

You can't bookmark. I'd like to be able to bookmark and go to something else and return. But the scan works pretty well.

It all depends on what you want an mp3 player for. But if you want something that's dependable and you're willing to learn how to work it on your own, this is a great little player.

The off button is really the on button. And you have to put it to off (which is on) when you charge it. Then put it to on/which is off, to load it. But once you learn this, it's a snap.

A decent little player and certainly worth the small amount you pay for it. I use it as my second mp3 player so I didn't want to invest much.

GPX IBR2807DPPNK iLive Boombox w/iPod Docking Station Review

Very happy with this little box. Even better, I only paid around $30 for it, so it was a great value. You do start to lose sound quality at high volumes, but I expected that. I do like that the volume control is an analog dial. I have another ipod dock at work with ditigal up and down volume buttons, and for my relatively quiet office environment, level 2 is too soft, and level 3 is too loud, and there is nothing in between. I don't have that problem with this unit.

My only minor complaint is that I have to take my nano out of it's case for it to fit in to the unit because the case has a belt clip, which is slightly inconvenient. Now, I just keep my full sized ipod in this dock so I don't have to deal with the nano case removal issue.

Overall, very happy with the product.

GPX BCD2306 Boombox with CD Player and AM/FM Tuner Review

I can't believe the negative reviews of this. It is what it is - an inexpensive portable. Sure, if you jack up the sound all the way, it will distort. It doesn't have expensive components that give you additional bass because they are not putting expensive speakers in an item that is supposed to be cheap.

For what it's worth, it's 10 times better quality than GPX was just 10 years ago. It fits the bill perfectly for a portable to drag around the house or set up in the office. The MP3 line-in works great - no annoying hum or static. It picks up stations better than my Sony portable - at least on FM. The digital readout on the analog tuner works great and I am noticing no drift. Just like Kaito, the Chinese produced radios are getting better and better. Mine is replacing an Emerson (who used to have good quality) that has basically fallen apart before my eyes in just two years.

If you want something perfect, pay more money. If you don't get hung up on expecting everything for a low price and you want to save some money and get a decent radio, this is the way to go.

Gpx Vert. Home Music Sys Review

I did not purchase this itea from Amazon, however I thought to warn any who might want to!

I purchased 2 of these stereo's, one for each of my daughter ages 5 and 2. After just a few weeks of playing cd's, neither of them work any longer. I can't tell you how upset I am because this is not the first time something of this has happened with this particular brand.

A few years ago I bought a portable DVD player and the same thing happened! After a few weeks the darn thing stopped working stating it had an error.

Anyways I plan to take the stereo's back to where I purchased them and I will never buy anything from this brand or any of it's sister brands again!

The GPX CD Boom Box has a unique Line Input port that allows me to use it as an extra speaker system for my TV audio out using a RCA jack cable.

I am totaly satisfied with the sound quality!! I wish it had an on-off switch -- instead I plug it into a circuit breaker substitute.
